This year Youth in Romsey organised and ran a holiday club in August for 24 children from eight Primary Schools in the Southern Test Valley area, which was supported and made possible by Rotary Club of Romsey Test.
“I did so many new things and made lots of new friends. It was the best week ever”
The children had a fantastic week, taking part in lots of new activities. We enjoyed two days at Minstead Study Centre exploring the river, toasting marshmallows on the fire, sheep hugging and mixing and creating potions - of course not all at the same time!
Back at the Youth in Romsey Centre we learned how to tie dye, do marble art and had fun with team games led by 360 Degree Sport.
Visitors came along and taught tennis, tai kwan doh, drama and music with instruments donated to us by Earth Picks Limited, a local Romsey company.
“Going swimming was great. I went on the flume for the first time ever”
We finished off the week with a party and circus skills afternoon learning how to spin plates and use a diablo.
The children had such a fantastic week, learning and experiencing lots of new things. It really gave them the opportunity to do something different and meet new friends from across the Southern Test Valley area.
