Designed to help young people gain the skills and experience that employers are looking for
Decision on locations is based on where the applications submitted from the young people across the county.
Improve chances of getting an apprenticeship or employment moving forward
Work towards an accredited employability qualification.
16– 24year olds
Not in education, training or work (more than 16 hours per week)
Minimum grade 3-9 (or grade A-D) GCSE English and/or maths (non-GCSE qualifications considered on an individual basis)
Enthusiasm and commitment to learn and motivated to work
Not have previously achieved a level 3 qualification
Functional Skills English and maths
High quality work placement to develop desired employment skills (minimum 160 hours)
Work preparation skills, covering; CV writing, job search, application forms, and interview preparation
Level 1 Employability qualification
Work placements are unpaid, but trainees may be eligible to receive support with travel expenses, meal costs, subject to individual circumstances.
A weekly training bursary payment is available of £57.90*
*Applicants in receipt of Jobseeker’s Allowance or Universal Credit will continue to claim these benefits whilst attending the programme, in place of claiming the bursary.
