Kitchen Assistant £8.21 per hour

Agency Kitchen/Catering Assistants required for one of our Care Home Clients !!!!

This is weekly paid agency work, paid every FRIDAY following the week worked.

£8.21 per hour


MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB To directly assist in food/beverage preparation and the provision of a high quality kitchen service in the provision of food to the service users, within the planned menu and any budget constraints.To work in partnership with service users encouraging choice, participation and motivation, adhering at all times to the values of the organisation.

REPORTING TO/RESPONSIBLE FOR Reporting to the Catering Supervisor or Cook / Chef or other designated line manager (will vary dependent upon individual Service structure)

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To assist in the preparation and cooking of food in accordance with the scheduled menu, ensuring that preparation and cooking times allow for planned meal times.To participate in cleaning kitchen and dining areas as per cleaning schedule, ensuring that the required standard is met.To use all equipment safely and appropriately and be aware of health and safety regulations in the workplace, ensuring the safe and hygienic maintenance of all equipment.To acquire knowledge of and carry out all safety precautions, fire drills, and personal and food hygiene practices.To manage time effectively, to maintain the provision of service to service users and meet the required standards of health and safety.To report to the line manager any equipment faults or need to re-order supplies; also any concerns or issues that may affect staff or service users well-being or safety.To ensure that any purchases on behalf of the service are agreed beforehand with the line manager and are within pre-agreed limits.To maintain close working relationships with the staff team liaising with care team and service users in the provision of suitable menus.To comply with all health and safety policies and procedures.To participate in supervision, appropriate staff meetings and training activities as requiredTo be responsible for maintaining and improving own knowledge and skills through experience and training.To undertake additional responsibilities as requested by the Service Manager following the successful completion of specific training and personal skills development.To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested.
