Youth in Romsey COVID-19 Update July 2020!

Hello! A little UPDATE for you all… 😁

Throughout lockdown, Youth in Romsey has not stopped. Our centre has been and will continue to be closed until further notice, however our service has remained accessible to young people remotely and we have therefore been able to support them in an isolating and worrying time.

This is largely down to our lovely followers liking, sharing and spreading the word about us so thank you so much for this! 🧡It is hugely appreciated and quite literally meaning young people who would otherwise be struggling alone are getting supported. Please do continue to share! 📤

We will continue to follow government guidelines and so the centre will not open to the public until we are told it is safe to do so. However based on the new guidelines for social distancing, we are able to admit small, organised groups in separately, and so we are busy planning a summer youth programme for our youth members following the exciting news we were successful in our application for funding to do this from Children in Need - (thank you!) We will of course be putting social distancing and safety measures in place to ensure this is done safely and make sure everyone’s mind is at ease. There will be more info to come on this!

Other branches of our services are running as follows…

> Counselling sessions are still being run via video/ phone calls with great success. 🥳

> We are advising those looking for sexual health services to go to for advice/ to book an appointment whilst we aren’t able provide testing kits and contraception/ run clinics etc 💗

> Our careers service is still running. Although job opportunities are rather sparse currently, we hope this will start to pick up soon, and in the meantime can offer support + advice with CV building, interview practice etc – message us! 📲

If you have any questions, are looking for support or want more info about any of the above, don’t hesitate to get in touch – we don’t bite!
